The College is committed to safeguard the proper use of laparoscopic surgery by gynaecologists in Hong Kong. Hence the accreditation exercise on laparoscopic surgery was started in 1998.

The certificate of accreditation is in 2 levels: intermediate and advanced. All members of the College or doctors with equivalent qualifications who have acquired adequate surgical operative experience in gynaecological laparoscopy can apply the Intermediate Level. Only Fellows of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent can apply for the Advanced Level.
